Meet McKennzie!

I’m McKennzie, the Founder and CEO of Layne Volleyball Club. Volleyball has been the most influential part of my life and has truly shaped me into the woman that I am today. I stand on the Core Values of integrity, discipline and dedication. My goal in opening my own club is to revolutionize the game. I take a different approach in coaching that provides my teams with a sense of structure and growth. I hope to touch the lives of young women and not only make them better athletes, but better, stronger women.

Meet Makenna!

Hi my name is MaKenna Gonzales. My passion for volleyball has grown over the past decade. Being apart of the game has taught me how not only skills in volleyball but life skills as well. I was lucky enough to have had an amazing coach during my travel volleyball years which led me to wanna do the same for more players. Can’t wait for this season for the girls to have fun , make memories and improve in their game play!

Meet Holly!

Hey everyone! I’m Holly, and I’ll be your assistant coach for the 15s Regional team this season! I played volleyball all throughout middle and high school—mostly as a middle hitter, but I’ve also spent some time as an outside! This is my first year coaching, and I’m seriously so excited to get started with all of you!
When I’m not on the court, I work as a Dermatology medical assistant, but I’m about to start school to become an Ultrasound tech—big changes coming my way! I’m super excited to meet all of you and have a great season!  Let’s work hard, play harder, and have so much fun this season!

Hi my name is Ava Jackman! I have been playing and loving the game of volleyball for 12 years. My journey in volleyball has instilled in me a deep appreciation for teamwork, resilience, and personal growth, values I aim to pass on to my players. I strive to help my players not only improve their skills but also cultivate a lifelong passion for volleyball. My goal is to inspire young athletes to enjoy the journey, build lasting friendships, and develop a strong sense of self both on and off the court!

Hey everyone! My name is Aliyah Thomas and I’m excited to step into my role as a coach this season. This is my third year coaching, and I’m passionate about helping athletes grow both on and off the court. My goal is to create a positive, competitive, and family-like environment where each player can develop their skills, confidence, where everyone feels valued and pushed to be their best. I can’t wait to get started and make this season one to remember!

Hi! My name is Makayla Davis ! I will be the head coach of 15s regional. I played travel volleyball for 4 years and played all through school! I was an outside hitter and played left back as well! This will be my second year coaching, 1st year for travel - yay!!! I am also a labor and delivery nurse and I do photography on the side ! I am so excited to meet you!!! Her enthusiasm for volleyball is matched only by her dedication to fostering teamwork, communication, and a strong sense of unity within the team.

Meet Cortny!

Hello, my name is Cortny Robinson. Volleyball is more than just a sport for me. It has created some of the best relationships in my life. Volleyball is family to me. I have been playing volleyball for ten years and have been coaching since 2020. I started my career coaching JO and I’ve been coaching for Firelands Local School for three years. I am looking to develop young student-athletes with volleyball, team building, leadership, sportsmanship, and safety skills. My goal is to motivate young women to implement strategy, discipline, collaboration, and a strong work ethic in their volleyball careers and daily lives.

Meet Bre!

My name is Coach Bre. I am an experienced youth coach from Lorain with three years of coaching across multiple sports, including volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. My volleyball career began in 7th grade and continued through 11th grade, where I competed for my school and in beach volleyball leagues. With a lifelong passion for the sport, I value the fast-paced, competitive nature of volleyball and the teamwork it builds. I am dedicated to helping athletes grow both on and off the court, focusing on skill development, confidence, and sportsmanship.

Meet Julissa!

Julissa Williams is a former Spirit Volleyball Club JO player and Lorain High School Varsity captain who’s passionate about helping young athletes grow on and off the court. She recently coached 7th grade volleyball at Durling Middle School, where she focused on developing fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence in younger players. Julissa has also coached at Lorain mini-camps and the YMCA, emphasizing skill-building and a love for the game. Collegiately a track and field athlete at Wittenberg University — where she holds the school high jump record and is a 3x national qualifier — Julissa brings energy, leadership, and enthusiasm to the Layne Volleyball program.
